I've often heard Maui called the 'Honeymoon Isle' and I've come to agree with that statement over the past year of living here. There are so many beautiful spots on the island where you can get swept away into a blissful moment with your special someone. Here are some great ideas to get away from the more touristy areas of the island and experience some secluded romance.
Maui Upcountry has so much to offer if you want to get lost together and explore. As you climb up you gain a view down into the valley and out over the ocean. There are many little towns to stop and explore and even some places to try some yummy local products like Maui Wine or Surfing Goat Farm. You will also find the well-kept Lavender Farm in Poli Poli and as you climb further up the road from the farm you will find yourself entering a forest of giant red wood trees where you can get lost just the two of you. There are several places you can pull over, set up a couple of lawn chairs, and enjoy the sunset together.
"I like long walks along the beach." It sounds so cliche, but is a wonderful way to spend some quality time together. Sugar Beach located in Kihei, is the longest continual beach in Maui and makes for a perfect place to enjoy each other's conversation while watching the waves roll in.
Most people will tell you driving The Road to Hana, but driving around the West Maui Mountains has a lot to offer as well. It is quite different from The Road to Hana with a more rugged untouched landscape and wide open ocean views with sheer cliffs. While at Nakalele Blowhole, look for the iconic heart shaped rock near the bottom to steal a kiss from your sweetheart.
While there are many wonderful restaurants to enjoy a beautifully prepared meal together you may not necessarily want to go out for a five-course meal every evening. Having dessert and a glass of wine watching the sunset from your lanai can be just as enjoyable. Find our wine list or write in your own favorite at www.mauimarketdelivery.com/order
