ADVENTURES IN MAUI

Market's of Maui

Maui has so much to offer for experiencing the sights, sounds, and tastes of Hawaii. If you are looking to take a break from the beach and go explore the island a bit, check out one of Maui's many local markets. They are great for everyone in the family and a unique way to experience some of the islands culture and Aloha spirit. Maui Markets are a great place to find unique hand crafted Maui made products to take home and enjoy for yourself or for a special loved one. Each market is unique in its own way and all offer a variety of vendors including those with fresh, locally grown produce sourced from Up-country and food trucks that have some great must-try local dishes and treats.

At some markets you will find many different artists that showcase and sell their Maui inspired pieces. This is a great opportunity to take home a piece of your vacation to hang on your wall or find some beautiful jewelry to cherish for years to come. Local artist Lisa Hamman hand crafts some stunning jewelry all sourced from the beaches of Maui. She preserves the beauty of her shells, moss, and seaweed from beach combing in a clear resin and makes a one of kind piece each time. Her products can exclusively be found at the Maui Swap Meet in Kahului and at her Etsy store: Flora and Jetsam Etsy Store

There are so many wonderful health benefits our a'ina has to offer from its wide variety of plants and fruit. Some vendors have found a way to extract the sweet smells and health benefits from the flora and fauna to create luscious lotions, body washes, sunscreens, and lip balms. There are products that have extracted the beneficial oils from the kukui nut and coconut to use on hair, skin, and nails that Hawaiians have been using for centuries. With scents such as Lilikoi (passion fruit), plumeria, tuberose, coconut, fresh Hana rain, mango, pineapple, and many more you will be enjoying the smells of Hawaii long after your vacation is over.

With Maui being so diverse you are sure to find something you will love. Below are some markets that are worth checking out the next time you are on Maui:
